The IASO Backup Appliance is the ultimate proof that backup to disk can be a full alternative for the traditional tape backup. Leveraging the unique IASO Backup to disk/Backup over IP software, this solution enables companies to secure their valuable business data in an easy and reliable manner and keep them available online continuously. The IASO technology guarantees ultra-short backup windows and even shorter recovery times. Moreover the management of a IASO Backup Appliance is much easier than that of a tape-based solution, resulting in a lower cost of ownership.
Plug & Play
The IASO Backup Appliance is preconfigured to enable direct operation without complex installation procedures. It is a matter of plug-and-play. IASO delivers fixed configuration models from 250 GB to 1 TB. IASO offers also two modular systems; the 7D and 14D. The numbers 7 and 14 indicate the number of storage modules which can be placed in the IASO Backup Appliance. There are storage modules of 750 GB and 1 TB.The maximum storage capacity of one IASO Backup Appliance is 14 TB!
The 1 TB Storage Modules can only be placed in new delivered 7D and 14D Appliances, which have a 1 TB Parity Disk. Already existing Appliances can be fitted with 750 GB Storage Modules.
Redundancy & Scalability
The capacity of the 14D Appliance can be expanded up to 14 TB by adding 1 TB Storage Modules, which are obviously also configured for redundancy, using RAID5 technology. This scalability makes the IASO Backup Appliance very suitable for data intensive, fast growing organisations.
2-Tier Backup & Restore with IASO Sync option
The IASO Backup Sync option allows 2 IASO backup servers to synchronise their data automatically. With this option advanced 2-tier backup & restore setups can be created, combining the advantages of fast backup & restore with a Backup Appliance in the Local Area Network with the security of an off-site backup, by synchronising to a second appliance on a remote location, or to our Backup Bank service.
