IASO Backup Software

IASO Backup Technology has adapted its IP Backup server software for use on Microsoft Windows servers. This makes it even simpler for the end-customer and the Backup Service Provider (BSP) to enter the world of online backup.

IASO online backup software is a client-server solution whereby IASO’s client software runs on the system requiring backup while the backup server can be located remotely – in a secure data centre, for example - either in-house or as part of a hosted service. Until very recently, the IASO Backup Server software could only be run on the IASO Backup Appliances, based on FreeBSD UNIX, and on SUN Solaris. The introduction of IASO Backup Server 5.0 for Windows provides greater hardware flexibility since the IASO software can now run on all Windows-supported servers and storage systems. This means more freedom for Backup Service Providers and end-customers, but also in many cases a lower initial investment because existing hardware and storage can be used for the backup solution.

With thanks to the improved architecture of IASO Backup 2010 software, it’s now possible to use Windows as a backup server without compromising on performance and stability. From now on it is even easier to install and manage the Windows Backup Server and people can enter the world of online remote backup at lower cost.
